The rear structure of all dock levelers is exposed to significant cycle traffic and abuse during the loading / unloading process which can lead to premature structural fatigue and expensive service or replacement. SafeTFrame™ addresses this issue and improves long-term structural integrity by adding more steel and structural strength to the rear frame of the dock leveler.

Additionally, for decades all dock levelers installed in a concrete pit have required an installer to place and weld steel shim under the rear frame in order to level the device and provide long-term support. This conventional process is challenging as pit depths are often inconsistent which can make the leveling process difficult. Installers are also required to work under the rear of the dock leveler where shimming and welding is cumbersome.

The result...steel shims are not properly installed or they shift over time leaving the dock leveler rear structure improperly supported and susceptible to structural fatigue. SafeTFrame™ is the first design that addresses the structural and installation issues that negatively impact dock levelers’ long-term life and cost of ownership.

The patent pending SafeTFrame™ structural design is now standard on all Kelley® and Serco® brand dock leveler models up to 50,000 lbs. capacity. The new design includes four heavy-duty vertical uprights at the rear of the leveler and each has an adjustable 3”x3” pad that sits on the pit floor. Each pad can be adjusted independently through a 1 1?2” range, compensating for even the worst pit conditions. Once the leveler is placed in the pit and tack welded, the installer simply adjusts the leveling bolt using a standard 1?2” square drive located at the top rear of the dock leveler.
